actually the SE-R was a 16V. Pretty quick. My nemesis in high school drove one. He literally lay in wait for me to leave high school in my 16V scirocco or 5000 turbo and race me all over town when I had better shit to do and block my way. It would usually end up with me cornering him and kicking his ass for being an utter dumbass. He always came back for more though

There are so many good answers, and I really want to name crossovers and SUV's that displaced wagons in the US, but there is a better answer than those, actually: the 08-11 US-market Focus. Ford should've just given us the Euro Focus. Worked for Mk1 and now Mk3 as well.

Of course, almost every crossover is also a correct answer.

I've always had a small attraction with the early 2000's 911. It would be interesting to take the key players out from each segment of car though. Take out the F-150, Corolla, 3-Series, Tahoe.

This might not turn me into a popular human being, but while I wouldn't wipe them off the face of the earth, I certainly wouldn't mind a sizeable cull on Corvettes. There are simply way too many of them, and to me they are among the least interesting high-performance cars that one could buy. I don't think that I've ever seen a single Corvette, in the street or in an exhibition, that made me turn my head anymore than a Toyota Corolla would.
